We don't use HSQL for the real application. It's just for this quick messaging test. The pauses happen long before memory is really filled up. I had fine tuned the publishing rate to reach persistence level, but not exhausting memory. In addition, a full GC took about 6 seconds, but the pauses were 6 to 8 minutes! Not that I am any expert, but what about if the issue is on the database side, like the Database can only create 100 connections/server processes. Ask your DBA as to what that is set to. Thanks for the reply vicky. Had this in the queue, but what is the assurance that switchover will occur when the exceptions happens. Listening to the place which takes care of the actual switchover must be more meaningful than this. Am I right? Download and install the Sun JDK. Either the latest 1.4.2 or 1.5 will do. Set JAVA_HOME to reference the installation directory. Download the jboss-4.0.3SP1.tar.gz file and unpack it. I put mine at /opt/jboss-4.0.3SP1, but you can put it in your home directory if you like. To run it, go to the bin directory (/opt/jboss-4.0.3SP1/bin on my PC) and enter './run.sh', and after you see the "Started in xxx seconds" message, open a browser to the URL http://localhost:8080.
