[JBoss Portal] - JAAS authentication is failing for Correct User name and pas

Hi, We are using JBoss portal 2.4.0 and JBoss App server 4.0.5.GA with Oracle 9.0 as database in production. We are facing a strange problem.Some times even if we give correct user name and password authentication is failing.After trying for 3 to 4 time then it authenticates correctly. We are not able to find out what is the problem.Even in server log files there are no exception logged. Please help us as it is very critical for us. Log4j 1.2.14 has direct support for the trace logging level. Earlier versions of JBoss used older versions of log4j which did not support the trace level. The NoSuchFieldError: TRACE that appears in the first post refers to class org.apache.log4j.Level. It evidences the presence of an older log4j version in the classpath. In my case I was getting this error in the client side. It turned out that my classpath contained an older version of log4j which was not compatible with the jboss 4.2 libraries. Upgrading log4j to version 1.2.14 did the trick for me. I mention it here in case these findings help someone. Hi Shane, I'd like to report an error and apologize to user evl123. My userid is landrew but for some reason, there's a mix-up that started happening when I submitted an instant reply a few days ago. Since then, my replies were submitted in evl123 userid. I didn't really pay attention to this error (thinking that it could be a temporary alias for my postings because I just joined the forum). Until a few minutes ago when I clicked on profile of evl123 and found that the userid belongs to another user. Again, I'd like to inform this error to the forum and hope this would be corrected soon (if this reply still goes in as evl123 user's.) On the s:fileUpload, now I have an issue regarding the file size exceeding a configured limit. When that happens, an HTTP code 500 returns with the following message: java.lang.RuntimeException: Multipart request is larger than allowed size I could not find a way to catch this exception and customize it. I found this page (which mentions the same issue): http://jira.jboss.com:8080/jira/browse/JBSEAM-1239?page=all&decorator=pri... However, I have no idea how to resolve this exception. The following is my configuration in components.xml <web:multipart-filter create-temp-files="true" max-request-size="10000" url-pattern="*.seam" /> I would appreciate any advice on how to handle this exception. The lack of logoff ability (short of closing the browser) is one issue. You also have to pass the auth headers with each request, instead of having auth linked to a session (is this true with jboss? I don't know for sure.) And for customer/user facing applications, having a login form integrated within your design is usually preferable. Those are my thoughts at any rate... [JBoss jBPM] - How to coordinate amongst child & parent processes?

We'd like to have one process that starts many (tens to hundreds) child processes (each using the same process definition). As each child process completes it updates the parent process to indicate its completion. When all of the children are complete the parent can continue execution. Does this make sense? If so, how should the children update their parent? How shall the parent know that it should continue? Is this a job for Fork and Join? This doesn't sound like a job for sub-processes... or am I wrong about that? Would there be a way to do this with sub-processes, and would that have some advantage? Thanks for any suggestions.
