[JBoss Portal] - Redirect user to a specific URL when session timeout

Hi. I am using JAAS with JBoss and I am unable to figure out a proper way to redirect the user to a specific page when the session expires. JAAS redirects to the page which user was earlier attempting to access but this is not what I desire in my application. I tried looking at possible solutions and couldn't figure out how to achieve this functionality. I considered the following possible places where i can do the redirection: 1. Extending the LoginModule and attempting to redirect. 2. Using a filter and configuring in server\default\deploy\jbossweb-tomcat55.sar\conf\web.xml. This doesn't work. 3. Using a filter and configuring inserver\default\deploy\jboss-portal.sar\portal-server.war\WEB-INF\web.xml. This doesn't work. In 2 and 3, the Filter isn't invoked when the session timesout may be because of JBoss server is intercepting the request before the filter can. Ideally, when the session timesout the Subject is removed from the application. So I attempt to obtain the Subject in the filter and if it returns null then I try to redirect to the home page of the application again. [JBoss jBPM] - jpdl eclipse designer hangs

i'm currently using jBPM designer from "jBpm-jpdl-3.2.GA" suite together with eclipse wtp 1.5.3. My problem is that the eclipse will hangs when i save the changes i've made to the processdefinition using the designer. I've even try using jboss IDE 2.0 beta2 with the designer plugins and it's still the same result. i've search through google/jira and can't find anyone with the same problem as mine. is there anything i've missed out or it's a bugs with the designer? [JBoss Seam] - @Out with stateless beans should be outlawed?

Hello everybody, I did a very quick search to see if somebody asked this question recently, please let me know if this question was already answered. Looking at the Component.disinjectAttributes() method, it only disinjects the @In attributes, but the @Out attributes are not nulled. I can understand the reasoning behind this logic. But, if you use a stateless bean and you outject a variable with 'required = false', and you are not careful, the next time the stateless bean is taken from the pool it will still have the old @Out attributes. Should there be a big disclaimer when using @Out with stateless beans? or am I completely misunderstanding it. Thanks a lot! AFAIK, Hibernate Annotations uses the standard EJB3 annotations, as well as providing extras that are in the org.hibernate.* package. >From the website: "The Hibernate Annotations package includes: * Standardized Java Persistence and EJB 3.0 (JSR 220) object/relational mapping annotations * Hibernate-specific extension annotations for performance optimization and special mappings" This is good because even though you are using Hibernate directly, it would be very easy for you to go to EJB3 later on. [JBoss Seam] - Is @Entity required for Seam w/ Hibernate in Java EE

I was using the hibernate example to learn how to use Seam without EJB3, and was surprised to see that all of the Hibernate3 pojos use the @Entity (javax.persistence.Entity) annotation. Is this a mistake in the example, or I am misunderstanding something? Are you using Toplink or Hibernate? I think the problem comes from your persistence layer. [Clustering/JBoss] - Re: mod_jk 1.2 not distrubuting HTTP requests evenly

UPDATE----- After many many hours of examining mod_jk's log output, it seems as if my declarations of various DWR (Direct Web Remoting) (for example: /dwr/interface/ValidationService.js) files was causing multiple requests to be generated. This in turn was throwing off the perceived even distribution of requests. I'm not quite sure how I am going to fix this issue in particular but at least it allows me to know that it's something to do with the way I have constructed the application.
