Looks like the text is hard-coded into ./theme/src/main/org/jboss/portal/theme/impl/render/div/DivDecorationRenderer.java: for (Iterator i = modesOrStates.iterator(); i.hasNext();) | { | ActionRendererContext action = (ActionRendererContext)i.next(); | if (action.isEnabled()) | { | PrintWriter out = ctx.getWriter(); | out.print("<span title=\""); | out.print(action.getName()); | out.print("\"><a class=\"portlet-mode-"); | out.print(action.getName()); | out.print("\" href=\""); | out.print(action.getURL()); | out.print("\"> </a></span>"); | } | } It appears that the value supplied for the 'title' attribute is the same as the state - "help" in this case. Not very localizable, is it? P.S. You never said which version of Portal, so I assumed 2.6. [JBoss Portal] - Default layout and theme for Dashboard

Currently the default layout and theme for dashboard is renaissance. I want my own custom theme and layout as the default one. I tried changing in default-object.xml for the dashboard but its not working. Kindly let me know how to change its(dashboard) default theme and layout without changing the default theme for the portal. Thanks in advance. I wasn't able to get hands on how to resolve the issue. So i came up with a solution that i would write header.jsp (custom, that has only the nav and no dashboard, this is what i intended), footer.jsp and then have them include in ever layout jsp's i might get. Can any one adivce a better way than this. But the point is i am not able access the portal's default objects. if ever want to use them. how should i approach... Also i want to disable the window state buttons for a portlet and even make them not to appear. Any suggestions? okay, I figured out, without pseudo business methods (inside which, just start a rule session and execute the named rules) I can directly call the business rules in conversation beans using the configured ruleBase for each entity class. Things are getting really neaty now with this a rule base per each entity class approach for my problem....
