The only way to really test Seam is to write examples and write tests for the examples. Hence you see tests for the examples. Unit tests are utterly useless for Seam, since its an integration framework - the existing unit tests we have are a useless PITA. However, there are definitely some parts of Seam which are under-tested at the moment, especially pages.xml. I also cannot run Seam2.0 ... i already develope application using seam 1.2.1 with tomcat 5 and have no problem at all. Thanks Ellen. So would you advise not to use Database queries from within a rule then? In this case the query would be against a list of prices (possibly thousands). Is it better to read these in the Bean and pass the whole lot to Drools? Regards, Damian. [Beginners Corner] - JBoss Portal and web applications

Hi all, Sorry for the naive question, but I'm planning to use JBoss portal to develop a web portal, but I also need to deploy a traditional web application (that possibly uses also EJBs). Do I need both JBoss portal and JBoss AS or I can do everything just with JBoss Portal? Ok...I have to rephrase and turn around the previous post, since as I read it now it is 1] confusing 2] not very informational 3] not the actual problem Im having ... so... the first post still applies, but only in the part that my MBean services on my development environment work only if I define a custom classloader repository for them... otherwise I get "ClassNotFound exception" on deployment time (for example, one of my MBeans implements JMS Message Listener and the exception is thrown exactly on this interface..which is a standart class of JBoss) but the fact that when I deploy them with a custom ClassLoader for the MBeans causes that I no longer have them in the same container as the rest of the Jboss - meaning that I have to define JNDI Port and BindAddress when instancing an Initial Context instead of simply relying on the default one ... AND it also means that I can't use Local Interfaces of my EJB's eventhough I'm accessing them from the very same JBoss deployment...again, I believe this has to do something with the custom classloader and its different domain from the default one... BUT...when I deploy my MBeans on a different JBoss server I actually have to get rid of the custom ClassLoader for them before they start working and if I do so...the SAR archive seems to suddenly be in the same domain/container as the other deployed services and EJB ... [JBossWS] - Forcing CDATA tags to be output sometimes on some tags from

Hello, I'm porting a web service to JBossWs and I've run into a backward compatibility issue. In the soap request, there is an optional tag to say "we want CDATA tags around the output fields in the response". So in the XML that appears back in the client it might be <mytag>textualstuffwithembeddedwhoknowswhat</mytag> or <mytag><![CDATA[textualstuffwithembeddedwhoknowswhat]]></mytag> I can't work out how to force the CDATA's to appear. If I add them to the value of the field, they get turned into this: <mytag><![CDATA[textualstuffwithembeddedwhoknowswhat]]></mytag> Can anyone tell me how to do this? Many thanks indeed!
