I'm having a hard time getting an EJB to register with the ORB. Jacorb starts with the server. I can see the IOR for the naming service and the transaction service. However, when I attempt to use the iiop interceptor in jboss.xml to register a bean, I get an NPE. I am using jboss 4.0.5.GA with java 1.5.0_11. The stacktrace seems to be indicating that Any codebase = orb.create_any(); is failing, but I don't know what this is symptomatic of. Below is the ejb-jar.xml as well as the jboss.xml. This is just a simple class to learn how to get corba working. Eventually I plan on adding facades to various other beans so that we may integrate them with some C++ applications. Any insight is appreciated. Pete, Thanks for the example. What if a number is stored in the database instead of a string? Not sure of the specific answers, but the API lists some methods for javax.portlet.RenderRequest that may help. In particular, it has inherited the following methods from javax.portlet.PortalRequest: getAttribute() getParamater() getPreferences() getProperties() I get those 4 types confused on a regular basis, but the JSR168 spec does well to straighten me out. Regardless, I believe that window properties can be accessed using one of those methods. I then get a malformed xml error in firefox stating that the span tag is not closed. The Lob annotation is for ejb3 entity beans when they have a field that is mapped to a Large Object in the database. I don't know if this is related to the delay you are experiencing but I would remove the annotation as it does not look like your backing bean is an Entity. Hi Guido, I will try to give you a short summary: a) you need a file "auth.conf" with e.g. this content: | myappclientsecurity { | // jBoss LoginModule | org.jboss.security.ClientLoginModule required | ; | }; b) on startup, add this parameter: -Djava.security.auth.login.config=/path/to/my/auth.conf c) in your application client, add those lines just after fetching the initial context: | AppCallbackHandler callbackHandler = new AppCallbackHandler(login, password.toCharArray() ); | LoginContext loginContext = new LoginContext ("myappclientsecurity", callbackHandler); | loginContext.login(); Those three changes should be sufficient to have a secured client. [Messaging, JMS & JBossMQ] - monitoring queue for undelivered messages

Hi, I wonder if there is any jboss specific API to see the number of undelivered messages in the queue. I send messages to queue always but my queuelistener picks up messages every 15 min. At this point I want to see how many messages are NEW in the queue. I could use QueueBrowser but that returns total number of messages in the queue. For eg , first I send 5 messages to queue . Now the count of messages is 5. At this point I process all those 5 messages. Next if I send 5 new messages , I want to see count of messages as 5 instead of 10 (total) , because only 5 messages are undelivered. QueueBrowser returns 10 in this case.
