[EJB 3.0] - Problem using orm.xml instead of annotation

Hi, I have a bunch of entities with persistence annotations and all worked well. Now that I need to remove the annotation and instead, use orm.xml to define the mapping. I did that for one of the entities and tried to deploy to JBoss 4.2.0 GA, but got an exception. I think you must use a Seam Managed Persistence Context (SMPC). Good spot. I managed to lose that line of code when copy/pasting . The penultimate line in createNewEntity() should read: entityManager.persist(myEntity); With this in place, does this approach look sensible - or is there a 'tidier' way? newbie qustion: zombie jboss processes

Hello, I'm running a jboss app-server to host a soap service and a flex app that server data from a mysql-db. The system runs on debian-linux. The hardware is probably too slow to handle the load effectively sometimes. After some time a lot of jboss processes, appear in the process tree. These are sleeping and seem to be hanging. Could the performance limit of the machine be the cause? Furthermore are there settings that can help to solve the problem? Sorry, if these are obvious questions, but I'm new to jboss. I would also appreciate a pointer to an faq or other sources of information. Thank you Jacques

Unknown Host exception is the problem. You have to make an entry in the IP host table Depending upon your platform Solaris:- add an entry in the /etc/hosts file # Internet host table | # | 127.0.0.1 localhost | <ipaddress> chambers since chambers is the unknown host. Windows:- add an entry to the C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts again same as the above. You will need to reboot the system for the change to take effect. [Security & JAAS/JBoss] - LDAPExtLoginModule: How to prevent UserPrincipal from being

I've been breaking my head over working around a JBoss Portal bug that prevents access to the dashboard if the Principal has a "." (dot). So, I can't use JBoss Portal if I logged in as "temp(a)company.com" or "first.last(a)company.com", etc. To be able to workaround this, I need to avoid the addition of the UserPrincipal automatically. What do I need to do to achieve this, and is it even possible? Does JBoss security code use AOP interceptors to do this? Yes, currently the check to see if a message is expired is only done on delivery. This is sufficient to be JMS spec compliant. It would be a fairly intensive operation to continously scour the queues for expired messages. However I have added a task for JBM 2.0 to implement this.
