[JBoss Seam] - Re: Swapping JSF implementation in JEE5 AS

I don't know a lot about Trinidad but AFAIK Trinidad offers a complete replacement of JSF standard components. So, in order to use Trinidad, my application has to use a JSF implementation (like Sun RI or Apache MyFaces)? And if it is the case, it is impossible to deploy Trinidad & MyFaces on JEE5 AS according to JEE5 restriction... Please correct my if I'm wrong. Trinidad isn't a JSF implementation, it is a set of components (like RichFaces) for JSF. It runs on any JSF implementation AFAIK. Sorry for the late responce - just got back from the holiday break. I have both beans annotated with @Name however the pojo is not. Looking over the initial post it looks a little cryptic so I'll try to clarify it a little In Jar A: Pojo containing common code Bean 1 - Stateless Bean using the @Name annotation In Jar B: Bean 2 extends Pojo - its stateful and named, it contains an instance var (Bean 1) which is injected using the @In annotation but the refrence is null at runtime. Initially everything was in one jar and Bean 2 was stand alone and it worked fine but now I'd like to seperate out some of the common stuff so I can reuse it in another project. >From what I can see in the documentation what I am trying to do should work fine, both beans should be in the same application scope because they are both living in the same ear file. [EJB 3.0] - Why does Thread.getContextClassLoader in an stateless bean r

I'm using JBoss AS 4.2.2. I worked out an ear with a war and a ejb-jar and several library jars in it. Some more information: 1. there is a very simple servlet in the war which do nothing more than retrieving some messages from the back-end stateless session beans and showing them in the browser. 2. In the ejb-jar, I have several stateless beans and an interceptor class which has a method for @PostConstruct. In all the beans and the interceptor, I added something like the following: | System.out.println("Thread class loader: "+Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader()); | System.out.println("local class loader: " + this.getClass().getClassLoader()); | The output is somehow amazing to me: the thread class loader is always WebappClassLoader for the stateless beans and interceptor! and the "local class loader" is UnifiedClassLoader3 in stateless session beans and interceptors and in servlet "WebappClassLoader". Should not the Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader() in stateless beans and interceptors return the same class loader as this.getClass().getClassLoader() (that is UnifiedClassLoader3 instead of WebappClassLoader)? [JBossWS] - Unsupported content type Exception while consuming JbossWS

Hi, My web service is hosted on Jboss 4.0.4 GA and Jboss WS 1.0.2 GA. Web service is document/literal style and JSR181 based. I have created JBossWS 1.0.2 web service client to consume the web service using JAX-RPC style - ServiceFactory method as given in the sample examples of the Jboss WS 1.0.2 GA. Service is over HTTPS and so did the necessary SSL configuration on the client to access the service. Web service client code is invoked through a JSP. With this way, I am able to invoke some services but when invoking one particular service I am getting the following exception. Any idea what is missing? I already was using 2.0.1.CR1. I just had thought Seam did not get initialized properly and so the Entity Manager. And I thought that was because i had something missing with the embedded JBoss. i've used RHDS and when I saw it isn't free i've tried JBoss Tools. I use them in production environment. I've downloaded WTP, JBossTools and only one plugin PropertiesEditor, nothing more. WTP+JBossTools is totally unstable. It hangs (I can click menu etc but no action is made) and sometimes Eclipse closes without any warning or error. There is something wrong with such setup. Problem is in part with WTP, because I had similair behaviours - sudden exiting - with WTP only, and in part with JBossTools (hanging). Now I'm back to RHDS beta - it's stable as rock. for me it sounds like you actually did succeed in creating the seam project but can't run it, correct ? It looks like you are running JBoss with Java 1.4 since otherwise you shouldn't see UnsupportedClassVersionError. HI, I want my .sar file which is deployed on jboss should not print INFO messages on console . I downloded the necessary documents for how to use the log4j.properties file for the application to use its own logging mechanism . But dear guys, that documents are for .war file only . I have searched a lot on net but unable to find the necessary steps for .sar file to use its own logging mechanism . I know that all sysouts will be printed on console as INFO but i dont want the INFO messages which the LOGGER object will print on console . Will any one of u help me in this regard ? My JBoss AS 4.2.1 GA suddenly will not start. I am using it with Sun Java 1.6. It has been working in the past but I had to reboot my server and now it fails to start with the following error in the stack trace: | 21:31:20,637 WARN [BasicMBeanRegistry] javax.management.MBeanRegistrationException: preRegister() failed: [ObjectName='jboss.remoting:service=NetworkRegistry', Class=org.jboss.remoting.network.NetworkRegistry (org.jboss.remoting.network.NetworkRegistry@3749eb9f)] | and further down: | Caused by: java.lang.RuntimeException: Exception creating identity: fattony: fattony | I did a bit of searching on the forums and found some posts about problems with /etc/hosts but I have not touched mine here it is: | 127.0.0.1 localhost | 127.0.0.1 fattony | I did notice that I can run my config as root: | ./run.sh -c vencomm -b 127.0.0.1 | but not as my "jboss" user that I had setup. I tried deleting and re-adding the user, changing ownership on my $JBOSS_HOME directory. I haven't changed a thing, it just started happening. Any ideas? How is everyone else running JBoss as a non-root user. I had it working and now it is broken. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe ejb's are still secured by containers. You can set up a declarative security policy with use of xml tags in the ejb-jar.xml for the container or roll your own with JAAS. If you are using JAAS then acegi security is out of the question. If you are using xml tag based security in the web.xml/jboss-web.xml, then the security context is propagated to the ejb container by jboss. In this case too acegi security is out. Cut to the chase, acegi cannot be used for ejb's. It is a filter based HTTP protocol authorization/authentication mechanism. Good for web resources & ensures web container independence. [JBoss Seam] - Maven2 example application for Seam2

Hi, I have made available for download a work in progress to getting a sample project going with Seam2 building and testing using Maven2 and JBossEmbedded. I thought a lot of the issues would be solved since there is a root pom provided for Seam (and hence the dependencies would be managed for me). I have a stateful session bean. The bean brings up button A if you are a User and button B if you are a Super User. the bean uses a non SMPC Extended Persistence Context and has Session Scope. Both buttons A and B call @Transactional methods that update the database. I am testing this application with IE and Firefox simultaneously.
