[Installation, Configuration & DEPLOYMENT] - Dedicated Oracle Connection per User, but using global User/

Hi all, IÃÂ´m trying to configure JBoss 4.2.2.GA to use a dedicated Oracle Connection per User. IÃÂ´ve tried to convince JBoss, but with no success so far. I need this, because our DBA designed the Database (a lot of PL/SQL Code for Calculations) with Oracle Sessions. He stores there some preprocessed Data. With the normal Setup i share the Oracle Session, with the Criteria Subject, the system uses the JAAS Username and Password to connect to the database. So IÃÂ´m a little bit clueless at the moment. My current Setup is JBoss 4.2.2.GA, JPA, EJB3, JSF, RichFaces. Can anybody explain to my how to setup such a scenario ? Hi Vicky, MCF's matchManagedConnection(..) method receives a single ManagedConnection object (argA), a subject, and a ConnectionRequestInfo object ("argC"). While debugging, I've seen that the ConnectionRequestInfo retrieved from the ManagedConnection ("argA") is different from the ConnectionRequestInfo passed as argument ("argC"); i.e. connections of 2 different users. Therefore, I don't think the problem is in the GWConnectionRequestInfo.equals() implementation, because the 2 objects don't equal to begin with. What did you mean by "these connections are already matched " ? Where are they matched? Could this be the problem? Hi Pete Speed is not the only issue we have (also I don't have any specific metric) but it will reduce the size of war file. Why carry around libraries that are not needed? We have run JBossAS just fine with a 1.5 JRE. The name is really weird. JDK of course implies it comes with the compiler, but then it qualifies that by saying "Runtime Env." which implies only the runtime portion. On Windows, when you install the JDK, the JDK gets installed in one locaton and the JRE in two locations (under the JDK, and in a second location under Program Files), though the Linux JDK install does not show this dichotomy. Not sure if there is another location on your machine where the whole JDK resides. [JBoss Seam] - Problem with h:selectManyListbox and hibernate entities

Hi, I'm not sure if that topic is right here. Maybe first a short discription of my problem. I try to bind an entity with several onetomany bags to an h:selectManyListbox (inc. Converter) everything works while only one item is selected. if selected two or more I got an java.lang.ArrayStoreException. I recognized that hibernate produces a persistencebag with two different objecttypes x and x_$$_javassist_. The JSF Component wants the selected items to be put in an array of x_$$_javassist_ type. That's why the operation fails, but why??? I didn't get the complexity of this problem solved. Maybe someone of you can help me! I tried getting the principal from the request but in my class that implements the SessionListener interface, there is no way of accessing the request, I guess simply because there is no request - only the session. Is there a way of making Tomcat not signalling JBoss that the session has timedout and therefore nulling the Principal? Is it uncommon to do cleaning up of for eg. certain temporary database tables when an Http Session expires? Or is there some workaround without having to patch Tomcat or JBoss in order to force it to do what I want?
