Hello, We are currently investigating an issue as to why our Jboss application server shuts down (crashes) on a weekly basis. Usage of snapshots to monitor freememory and threadcounts in the Jboss web-console seemed to be a good idea at the time, however, when Jboss does crash, the snapshots are lost! Is there are way to write snapshot data to a file? Or are snapshots of no use when investigating a Jboss shutdown? [Persistence, JBoss/CMP, Hibernate, Database] - java.lang.IllegalStateException: Can't overwrite cause

Dear All, I used below tools to build up my EJB project : - NetBean - JBoss - MySQL After successful created Stateless Bean & persistence units. I try to create Entity class from database. After that, I try to deploy such project and JBoss Application Server response below error message : ObjectName: persistence.units:ear=ScheduleTool.ear,jar=ScheduleTool-ejb.jar,unitName=ScheduleTool-ejbPU State: FAILED Reason: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Can't overwrite cause I Depend On: jboss.jca:service=DataSourceBinding,name=STS Also, I cannot find Persistence.Units item in Global JNDI Namespace webpage. Ok, I've closed JBREM-1046 "HTTPClientInvoker throws NullPointerException when HttpURLConnection.getInputStream() returns null" for Remoting version 2.5.0.SP1 and cloned it (JBREM-1052) for version 2.2.2.SP11, which will ship with the next EAP 4.2/4.3 CP releases. [JBoss jBPM] - How to start/invoke the process through java API?

Hi all, i have been reading through the tutorials and some of the forum threads but still couldnt figure out how to start the process w/o human intervention. I need to trigger the start of a process from a backend batched job. How do i go about coding this part? And the task itself need to be authenciated. How do i set the login & password? Try this :- (1) JAR the following classes MyCustomPrincipal and MyCustomLoginModule . (2) Put the JAR in $HOME/server/default/lib. (3) Modify the run.sh or run.bat to pick up this JAR in its classpath. (4) Remove these classes from your WAR. This way, the module and its customPrincipal are in the server's CLASSLOADER and not in the WAR's CLASSLOADER. Remember, the JAAS module is used for securing all applications that run on the Server & not individual web application (5) Now the casting should work. When you run your client programme the jaas config (policy) file will probably have the client login module and the server side module . If I understand right, the job of the client login module is to pass the credentials to the server side. If you check your policy file it could be having these login modules cascaded. Which means when the LoginContext.login() is called, the modules are called one after another, in succession. The client login module id called, which passes the credentials to Server side Login module , which authenticates & authorizes. Hi, I would like to know how to configure the iplanet 4 Webserver and Sun Webserver with the JBoss Application. our webserver on tier1 and JBoss application is on tier2. Do we need to update the Obj.conf, what kind of special tagging is required for the same. We are currintly using the webserver with the weblogic. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks for the quick response. I did dig through the code and see it tightly coupled with portlet. But if i need to call the same service via Java Command prompt (like a helloworl program). Hey! =D This sounds like a real issue. It'd be great if you could open a JIRA for me (https://jira.jboss.org/jira/secure/CreateIssue!default.jspa) and post a quick example project of how you'd try to access these jars. I'm not as familiar with the app-server itself as I should be, so just make a quick jar with 1 class in it (something simple, a POJO) and then an example war / ejb jar / ear that tries to access it. If you can do that for me I can try to make sure it's solved in the JBossTools 3.0 CR release sometime before the end of the year.
