I dont think the problem is related to state transfer, its after i do the state transfer i look to empty the region, this i assume triggers eviction event(s) that get placed on the queue to get evicted. I then get the above message(s) but what is worrying is that after things have cooled down i till have data items still in the cache for that region. It should be empty which leads me to believe that if the queue is full then the eviction event is discarded. By the way the removeRegion does nothing for me, region is still there in its entirety. Is there any way of removing a region with many nodes in one go without causing a flood of events that overflows the queue?? Havent had the time to look at this since but its on my todo list. Ok, I am answering my own post, after trying out and finding the best approach to go about. (1) Do *NOT* use oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver for Driver Class. Please *USE* this instead as clearly documented by Oracle Corporation - | oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver | as clearly documented by Oracle Corp. This is especially true in Oracle11g environment. [Security & JAAS/JBoss] - EJB3 and security role references

Hello, I have an ear file that contains secured EJBs. The beans are coded using EJB3 annotations @Local, @Stateless and are secured using @DeclareRoles, @RolesAllowed, and @SecurityDomain. Everything seems to deploy perfectly and I can get the bean instance from JNDI from a servlet located in a different EAR but in the save JBoss instance. My questions is regarding security role references. My beans are coded with @RolesAllowed({"UserRole"}) but the role in the database for the users is "USER ROLE". Because of this, I know I need to use some sort of security role referencing to map "USER ROLE" to "UserRole". Since I'm using annotations to code my EJBs, how can I do this? I've tried to add the following to jboss-app.xml in the ear that contains the EJBs but it did not work. <security-role> <role-name>UserRole</role-name> <principal-name>USER ROLE</principal-name> </security-role> Can anyone help me? All beans will have the same roles so I want to do this on globally. I though the jboss-app.xml would work. I'm I doing something wrong? I'm using JBoss 4.2.3, JAVA 6, EJB3. [JBoss Portal] - How to acces org.jboss.portal.api.PORTAL_NODE from layout pa

Hi, i'm trying to implement a custom layout and i need to access the request attribute org.jboss.portal.api.PORTAL_NODE inside the index.jsp layout file. This attribute is set in the request for the tabs.jsp but the problem is that this attribute has not been set in the request for the index.jsp. So i have to find where i can set this attribute so i can access it in the index.jsp file. Or maybe there's another way to achieve this ? thanks for your help. We came across this very same problem. We made modifications to the User Authentication system by setting a "Guest" role when not logged in. The changes were in the 2.6 branch but changes have been made since then to how authentication is handled. What version of portal are you using? That data is only inserted when there is no jbp_user table found. Remove the table as well as jbp_role to get the defaults back in.
