Ok guys, found out on my own, a rather dumb mistake on my part: In RemoteJMSProvider configuration, I forgot to add attribute FactoryRef, i.e.  | <attribute name="FactoryRef">XAConnectionFactory</attribute> I added it and everything went smoothly! I still have one more dumb question though, if anybody can take time to enlighten me: Why I need to specify this "Combined Connection Factory" attribute? Well, as you can guess, I'm pretty newbie here, and so I am not to able to figure out why this is MANDATORY and why the bridge collapses before it is even made if this is not specified and that too with NPE? [EJB 3.0] - Logs of System Exception

Hi All, In the EJB 3.0 specs I can read (table 14): anonymous wrote : Bean method runs in the context of a transaction that the container started immediately before dispatching the business method. | This case may happen with Required and RequiresNew attributes. | | System Exception --> | 1- Log the exception or error. | 2- Rollback the container-started transaction. | 3- Discard instance. | 4- Throw EJBException to client. I made a simple test: @Stateless | public class TestExceptionBean implements TestExceptionBeanRemote { | | public void test() { | throw new RuntimeException("test"); | } | | } With the Administration console, I can see Jboss discarding the EJB instance. The transaction is well rolled-back. The EJBException is sent to the client. .... But I can't see my System Exception in the log. Any idea ? For info. Having though about the problem, I agree with JIRA if the situation is the case where components start threads and they still go on (creating new objects) after the stop method on the main POJO has ended. But in my example, the "stop" method returns only once all threads involved in the component have stopped. So I have the feeling it could still highlight something strange somewhere. But anyway, the given workaround works fine so I am definitivelly not going to complain ;-) (this is just for info in case this could highlight the why of some other problem). As far as I know there is no such capability in JBossAS. Any code that knows the JNDI name for the datasource has access to the database. A PC with 2GB of RAM should not have any issues with running a JBossAS set with a 1GB heap (which is what I think you meant by the JAVA_OPTS lines you posted, but I am not sure, those lines do not look like anything in run.bat). I have a PC with an old Pentium 4 processor and only 1GB memory running Windows 2003 with JBossAS + Portal. That PC is also running IIS, Apache HTTPD and MySQL, and I have not noticed any significant performance issues (web response is fairly quick). Do you also have oracle running on that system? Oracle takes up a lot of system resources. If it is using all of the memory, then you are probably experiencing a lot of thrashing as both Oracle and the JVM fight for memory. Have you used PerfMon to monitor the system to determine where the bottleneck might be? [JBoss jBPM] - Problem with User.hbm.xml

Hi, I'm trying to use jbpm with a wicket GUI application. Now I use jbpm-jpdl.jar and jbpm-identity.jar in classpath but I obtain an error: User.hbm.xml not found. I've copied it from jbpm-identity in web-inf and now it works correctly. Is it possible to use that in jbpm-identity? Thanks in advance! [EJB 3.0] - Re: Executing a session bean method in transaction

Session bean methods defined as transactional happen within a single transaction. So in your case all of the queries (or updates) within that method are done within the same transaction. You can specify the transaction scope like this: @TransactionAttribute(TransactionAttributeType.REQUIRED) public void someMethod(...) REQUIRED is the default, so you could actually leave it off.
