Hi everybody, At the moment we are building a new J2EE Webapplication that we deploy in a JBOSS application server. Till now we have a Cobol application om various platforms, Windows, Linux. HP-UX and AIX. In the future we like to use only one platform, also for very large accounts. Now we have a question. How does an installation on a Windows platform compare to an installation on a Linux platform? The same machines, performance , max concurrent connections. When we have a cluster of JBOSS application servers. Does the number of servers on WINDOWS differ from the number on Linux? [EJB 3.0] - EAR deploy fails in JBoss 4.2

Hi I have a ear with a ejb and a util jar. The util jar contains classes the session bean interface has an parameter which is referenced from the util jar . When i deploy the ejb it complains that it is not able to find the class that was referenced from the jar. EAR lib util.jar - TestParam meta-inf jboss-app.xml application.xml ejbjar Session Bean meta-inf ejb-jar.xml Session Bean ============ package myTransTest; import javax.ejb.Remote; @Remote public interface ITest{ void addPerson(PersonParam personParam); } The PersonParam is being refenced from the util.jar . On deploying am getting a classcast exception saying myUtil.PersonParam not found. ... by the way my JBoss version is 4.0.5GA. Is there some issue with using CRLs with this version of JBoss? I've read here and there that there could be, something about recompiling with java 5? [JBoss Portal] - Deployment of portlets - custom descriptors

Hi! I've just looked into deploying JSR168 portlets to JBoss Portal, and from the documentation, I can see that I need two custom descriptors in my portlet application. I find it strange that I need these descriptors to specify the instances of the portlet, and on which page and where on the page it should be placed. I feel that this is more of a portal administration question, and not something that should be the responsibility of the portlet? Is there a way to not include these descriptors, and configure instances and placement via the portal administration instead? [Security & JAAS/JBoss] - Secure Web Services

hi, I have a question regarding web services. I have a number of web services which I am going to deploy on JBoss. These web services are accessed from a web application on the same server. I want the web services to be accessed from the web application but not to be accesses directly from outside the server. Can I restrict access to the web services from localhost? Alternatively can I change the port for access to the web services? Thanks in advance. Just to clarify - rather than necessarily finish in a specific order, the tasks must not finish before one (or, in the general case, one or more) other task is finished. You have queried my use of fork, but are you really saying that fork is only appropriate where the tasks are entirely independent? As an illustration, in the websale example, is it not reasonable to assume that 'ship item' should not complete before 'wait for money' was completed? Now while the join perhaps implies this synchronisation, the 'ship item' node can fully complete even if 'wait for money' never completes...
