seam.properties is used for two purposes, to mark an jar as containing Seam components and to set values. If you want to use the latter, then you must place the seam.properties in the WEB-INF/classes directory. Like Wise I am also looking for a solution to oracle-ds.xml. I want to use its alernative so that I don't show the password and connection pool is not created by oracle-ds but some other configuration file. For persistent messages, you are fundamentally limited by the speed of your database. So your persistent message throughput will entirely depend on how your Oracle box is set-up tuned etc. Oracle is very tunable however.
