We have some servlets talking to the Crystal Report Server. Since it takes some times for the crystal servlets to process a request, we do not want to open too many threads at the same time. In weblogic 6.1, we can configure a servlet queue and limit the number of threads (e.g. 5) for the queue. If too many crystal request comes at the same time, the first 5 will be processed. And the rest of them will queue up. I want to do the same thing in JBoss. Should I open a new connector? Any example? Sounds like you want HA-JNDI affinity -- i.e. once a user connects to JNDI on a particular node in the cluster, he always uses that node. If none of your EJBs on the node are clustered, when you download an EJB proxy from JNDI, the proxy will always talk back to the server it came from. Something you can try -- in the all/dpeloy/cluster-service.xml file, HA-JNDI mbean you find this: <attribute name="LoadBalancePolicy">org.jboss.ha.framework.interfaces.RoundRobin</attribute> Try changing it to: <attribute name="LoadBalancePolicy">org.jboss.ha.framework.interfaces.FirstAvailableIdenticalAllProxies</attribute> With that, once a client VM accesses a particular node via HA-JNDI, all further access from the VM will use that same node, unless the node fails. BIG CAVEAT: I've never tried this, never heard of anyone trying it, and have thought about it for about 10 minutes. Use caution, test well, don't be surprised if there are issues, etc etc. Note that this architecture doesn't sound HA at all. [JBoss Portal] - Default Pages On Reboot

When installing JBOSS Portal and running for the first time a set of Default Pages/Tabs are loaded up on jboss startup. Test TestWithAjax if loading with wiki/forums portlets forums wiki I may have missed one, but anyway the question is when you log into the portal as admin and delete these pages, then reboot the box these pages will reappear. Is there something simple that can be done to prevent this from happening? Thought someone could answer this quickly for me. My apologies if this is mentioned in the user/reference guides. Is this the first things that happens imediatelly after starting the cache? Logs indicated that interceptor stack is null, which is strange indeed. Is everything your application needs all packaged together in whatever you put in deploy-hasingleton? I have no idea about Cocoon internal or what it's doing in that call. But if your application is entirely self-contained, there should be no difference in its ability to find resources from deploying it via deploy-hasingleton vs. deploy. Don't file a bug until we get establish what it is we're talking about. I looked at the JMX console and determined that the DefaultDS was being used (HSQLDB). Also, GeneralPurposeDatabasePersistencePlugin class indicates that a table named TIMERS is being created and timer scheduling instances are being inserted into that table. I deleted all the records and the errors during startup of JBoss went away. However, this does not address/identify the root cause of the errors...
