Of course there are files in the native folder, that's why I'm so surprised by this server log message. It says there are no files although there are the needed files. If I start the server manually by run.bat it loaded those native libs and shows the success message in the log. Hello all, We are trying to monitor a queue status from the command line. In particular, we want to monitor the number of messages in the queue at any give time. Let's say that the queue name is XXXYYY. We are trying to use twiddle of course, but got stuck. As you can see below we are using jboss-4.0.5.GA (the examples are under windows, but we have the same behaviour under linux as well). C:\Program Files\jboss-4.0.5.GA\bin>twiddle query "jboss.mq.destination:*" | [...] | jboss.mq.destination:service=Queue,name=XXXYYY | [...] | | C:\Program Files\jboss-4.0.5.GA\bin>twiddle get "jboss.mq.destination:service=Queue,name=XXXYYY" | 10:38:52,265 ERROR [Twiddle] Exec failed | java.io.NotSerializableException: org.jboss.mq.server.MessageCounter | [...] Because MessageCounter is not serializable we cannot get it's value. I guess we could write an JMX over RMI inspector but still, we have the circumvent the issue of dealing with an object that cannot be serialized and sent over the wire. Do you guys know any other MBean that we can monitor from the command line? Any other suggestions? Are there actually any files in your C:/jboss-as/bin/native ? I suspect strongly you need to download the native libraries yourself... though I'm not certain. To solve the issue of having your own log4j.properties, the article at http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/Log4jRepositorySelector says: "While you can solve this problem using class loader scoping, the preferred way to do this is using a RepositorySelector ". However the article in the url above does not specify how it can be (non-intrusively) adapted for an EAR: Quote from same article: "Now in you EJB, in your constructor, do this: ContextRepositorySelector.init(this); trcLog = Logger.getLogger("MyLogger"); " The EAR file for which I want to use log4j.properties has many EJBs and WAR. Any ideas on how it can be adapted for an EAR without having to create the context in every EJB constructor and Servlet init method? Any other thoughts?
