[Beginners Corner] - Local SSL process [method - CMT used] atomic operations issu

Hi ALL, I have a following process, to be done by (Local)SSB[Stateless Session Bean]- <atomic operations in a method in SSL> 1. Persist [update] some values in database. 2. Some file operations , write some data to file. </atomic operations> I want both operations to be atomic. My Local SSL EJB is a CMT and its method 'transaction' attribute is marked for new transaction. Code: | void myAtomicProcess(String a, String b)throws MyException{ | | //1. update db... | | //2. update file ... | | } If there is any exception while committing [at the end of method] , I want to rollback my changes done to file i,e restore the file as it was. Please help me to achieve this. [Beginners Corner] - Error setting up MySql as DefaultDS

Hi, I am using Jboss 4.0.0 and MySql 5.0 and I am trying to use MySql as DefaultDS. I have followed the steps indicated in http://wiki.jboss.org/auth/wiki/en/SetUpAMysqlDatasource?action=e&windows... But now I have a problem. [Javassist user questions] - Re: Accessing static variables...

Paerhaps I didnt explain the problem properly. I m using the translator in SimpleConvertor class to transform methods in class B where I access a static variable of A. I run the program as: | java ChangeClass B B and get this output: B B | 10 Whereas it sud be 15 instead of 10. Can someone please look into this and tell me where the problem lies and how can I work around this problem. Its urgent :(. Thanks in Advance. [JBoss Cache: Core Edition] - Integration with Hibernate. Some strange things. Need your h

1. Cache works even without TM specified. just message in log "..no tm found..bla bla bla". Is it OK? I actually need asynch invalidation, so I need no transaction support. 2. Only, that version, that comes with Hibernate itself works, last GA version gives "no class def found" , it looks for some ...TransactionLookup.class, that changed it's package to ".../cache/transactional" instead "../cache". Do you plan to synch with Hibernate? do they plan that? What about publishing latest integration news somewhere? 3. invalidation is also a "REPLICATION", but 'shortest' one? Because I see messages in log "response for method replicate...,... replicating evict", although I do(intend) only evict. Because I had a version that worked that I could use as a baseline, I systematically did a windiff on the two directories. Windiff said only difference was spaces. I though nothing of it, but as soon as I swapped jndi.properties over it worked a treat. I don't know if its to do with CRLF characters. Only there was one less character in the one that got replaced. Maybe folks at JBoss can take a look into this. What a nightmare to debug! Got there in the end though..
