The one thing I've heard about with Windows is some sort of conflict if you use Network Load Balancer (which is also UDP based). But I don't really know any details; IIRC there was a forum post about a possible conflict, but it didn't really get into specifics. I've certainly done plenty of UDP clustering of multi-homed Windows machines. If you run the AS clustering testsuite, it deploys two AS instances on the same box and clusters them to run tests. On Windows only way to do that is to multihome the machine. [EJB 3.0] - Question on @Service annotated beans

Hi, In the past, I have used plain JMX MBeans to create my own services, which do things like create threads, access files, etc. These MBeans also do database access using Hibernate, managing their own transactions and sessions. My question is how do the @Service annotated beans compare to the old "regular" MBeans? On the one hand, can I still create threads, do file system access, etc, or is this prohibited as for EJBs? On the other hand, are transactions being managed for the @Service annotated beans, like other EJBs, or do I still need to manage my own transactions and Hibernate sessions (or JPA entity managers). Thank you, but that does not cause problem. These are indeed application specific log messages but they don't cause a problem. I know because I wrote the code myself. It's just some logging. In fact it happens every minute (system checks NTP deamon every minute and cannot find it, simply because it is not configured). I'm 99% sure that it's not our code that restarts JBoss. Is it possible that a shortage of memory causes the 'restart'? Or do you know of any other event that may cause this symptom: no shutdown logging, just startup logging. pathanfiroz, what does your post have to do with GTWebDev's issue? You should have started a new post. But here is a hint. Note that the error message referenced a schema named HMRPTST. There is no such schema name used by jbossas, so it must be related to your application and *-ds.xml file. Most likely, the *-ds.xml file is attmepting to connect to the HMRPTST shcema in the database, but the database does not have such a schema.
