Use the jmx-console to check the jndi tree contents as explained at http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/DisplayTheJNDITreeWithTheJMXConsole. Check what's the jndi-name in the java:comp/env namespace of your bean. Then use that name for doing the lookup. I have changed code given but I am still getting the same Exception as javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: CMPHome not bound...is the Jboss.xml correct when I am referring to make a local call. javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: CMPHome not bound Goal of the Program: Client is calling Session Bean which is a remote call and Session Bean is calling CMP Bean as a Local Call. So while making a local call there is an Exception (javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: CMPHome not bound). ie while lookup. They probably are referring to run.sh which is in %JBOSS_HOME%\bin folder. This script starts the JBoss server. Or maybe they have their own mm.sh file (in which case you will have to contact that application's support team). This may not actually be the reason for the failure, but i want to completely rule out that possibility. Move your installation to some other folder (without space) and try starting JBoss.
