I have tried doing exactly the same. So listeners must be specified during the window deployment ie during the deployment of the -object.xml file." How to specify listeners during window deployment? I am very new to JBoss portal. [Beginners Corner] - where should i start in seam?

Wow, that totally changes my perspective (again). I think what I really want to do is to just provide a way to specify the various I/O beans, because that's all my (incorrectly-named) "deployments" really are for the most part. So I guess what I need to do is to figure out a way to "merge" in my metadata with the regular BeanMetaData - should just be a question of some JAXB research I hope... OK, I've now realized that there's absolutely no point in using the schema resolver deployer if you're going to embed your customized descriptor inside of a bean-deployment descriptor. It took me long enough to figure out. But basically the reason is that all that is necessary to do so is to register your schema with JBossXB - if you do the schema resolver deployer bit, at best it's a useless deployer laying around. That said - I've looked at KernelDeploymentDeployer and it has brought me no closer to understanding how to make the container use my BeanMetaData. I actually did this a few days ago. The real difficulty I found was trying to include a <h:form enctype="multipart/form-data">...</h:form> inside the <jbpm:dataform>...</jbpm:dataform>. So I created an upload page, uploadFile.xhtml and placed it in the sa directory along with all the other .xhtml files. But this still didn't work and only seemed to work when I made it a list with only one element in it and pass it in through a loop. Maybe there's a less convuluted way of doing it, but I wasn't smart enough to find out how. In your upload file actionListener, all you have to do is to grab the InputStream and then write it out to a FileOutputStream that points to the filename you saved it under. You can actually refer to the JBPM team's DeployProcessActionListener.java code. Hi Ruchika, Yes I was able to solve this problem. Firstly you must create a processAction method for your portletA (or the calling portlet). This is because we are generating an action event from the submit form of portletA. Secondly listeners are registered for a portlet "window" and not the portlet instance. So listeners must be specified during the window deployment ie during the deployment of the -object.xml file.
