[Installation, Configuration & DEPLOYMENT] - trying to increase thoroughput to server, what am I missing?

I am trying to load test a newly installed JBoss server. I am using JMeter to send continuous HTTP POSTs to a servlet running on the server but I can't seem to send more than ~50 requests a second, and this doesn't max out the server (it handles these requests with no problems). I have tried sending the requests from multiple machines simultaneously with the same result. I have also modified JBoss's server.xml config file to up the HTTP connector threadpool size, but again this seems to have no affect - I am stuck around 50 requests a second. Are there other configurations I should be modifying or could I be missing something with my current setup? Any help is appreciated! Max, The project was created by JBoss Tools 2.0 (beta) using the Seam project template and was working fine with 2.0.GA. Last week we upgraded to JBoss Tools 2.1.1.GA and start working with the project and noted the problem as mention in my original post. Files' size are small, in most cases, less than 100 KB. The problem occurs when editing .java and .xhtml files. Even when we type "space", Eclipse CPU usage spike and this make the editor less responsive. Do we have to re-create the workspace and all its associated projects when migrating from JBT 2.0 to JBT 2.1.1.GA? We will continue to systematically play around with Eclipse preferences to try to isolate the problem. Thanks. [JBoss Messaging] - MySQL issue under JBM 1.4 SP3

Hell all, I probably have a rookie questions. I have changed the persistence database from hsql to mysql, using the examples that come with JBM installation. I can see that Jboss uses the default 'fullsize' and I can verify that it is set to 200,000. Jboss created the needed tables in mysql and my application works fine. The only thing that I don't understand is why Jboss is writing the messages to the database even when I don't reach 200,000 messages in the memory. I monitor mysql and can see the messages written to the jbm_msg tables from the beginning. I have set the JVM to 1024M and it doesn't take more than 200m. I need a very fast messaging engine. I can suffer the loss of messages if the JVM falls so I want to work with the memory as much as possible. This behavior causes to a terrible performance issue. Can anyone please advise ? sorry for tha bad subject. I'll try to ask in another way: How is it possible to handle the packages java.util and java.io in the same way as java.lang ? I have a lot of jsp files, which uses this packages without imports. In Bea Weblogic Server all works fine, but in JBoss 4.2.2 I get a lot of JasperExceptions. One thought. The XML config files for each of the services that open ports usually use jboss.bind.address to define the IP address they will bind their ports to. For example, in jboss-web.deployer/server.xml, the address for the connector is defined as: <Connector port="8080" address="${jboss.bind.address}" | maxThreads="250" maxHttpHeaderSize="8192" | emptySessionPath="true" protocol="HTTP/1.1" | enableLookups="false" redirectPort="8443" acceptCount="100" | connectionTimeout="20000" disableUploadTimeout="true" /> You could change it to: <Connector port="8080" address="${my.http.address}" | . . . And then start JBossAS adding -Dmy.http.address=99.99.99.99 (or whatever IP address you want). You can do similar things to the remoting service XML file for messaging. Juts make sure that you catch ALL of the IP address for whatever service you are modifying. I am using JBoss Native in production. But there is no difference in performance or reliability between the JBoss Native service mechanism or Tanuki service mechanism. Both simply launch JBossAS which does all of the work from then on - the service launching mechanism takes no part in anything beyond that. Note, however, that JBoss Native, when installed, provides the Apache Portable Runtime (APR) which can speed up HTTP rquests. But of course you can install JBoss Native for APR and still use Tanuki as the service mechanism.
