The actual problem is that "dan jboss" has not properly configured JBoss Messaging to use MySQL within JBossAS 4.2.3. What version of JBoss Messaging did you install? How did you install it? The mysql-jdbc2-service.xml file belongs to JBossMQ and not JBoss Messaging. You should not be using that file. Did you follow the steps under "JBossMQ" at http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/SetUpAMysqlDatasource to set up MySQL? If so, those instructions do not apply to JBoss Messaging. My main problem with jBPM 3.2.3/Eclipse 3.4 combination is that in jpdl XML file the 'variable' elements inside 'controller' loose their contents. Following your advise, I switched to my copy of MyEclipse 6.5 (which is Eclipse3.3 based) and the "empty variable problem" seems to be gone. Thanks! It worked. I even tried it with exploded deployment. Even that worked. What is your operating system and also what's the version of Java? I am using Eclipse 3.3.x with jBPM 3.2.3. The problem I get sometimes is that, when I edit the process xml file, the design can become a mess... (eg. arrows to nowhere without being able to drag them to the correct node) Solution : be patient, try to do your changes in other ways (copy paste, step by step changes, ...) So have the same hope that this will get fixed in the future. But ok, I don't need to change the definition that much, so I am still patient ;) Dieter D'haeyere. [Clustering/JBoss] - EJB3 timer and cluster behaviour (JBoss 5.0.0)

I know that the ejb2 timer with JBoss 3.x/4.x is not really cluster aware. How the new ejb3-timer-service manage the timers in a clustered environment. Are the timer-events syncronized via database that a single execution of a timeout is ensured ? Anybody who know this? I try to use the EJB3 timer service with Oracle DS. First of all I have to use a non XA connection, is the XA protocol not needed? If I use a local-tx-datasource the table can not created because of an illegal data type. The Statement: anonymous wrote : CREATE TABLE QRTZ_JOB_DETAILS(JOB_NAME VARCHAR(80) NOT NULL, JOB_GROUP VARCHAR(80) NOT NULL, DESCRIPTION VARCHAR(120) NULL, JOB_CLASS_NAME VARCHAR(128) NOT NULL, IS_DURABLE VARCHAR(1) NOT NULL, IS_VOLATILE VARCHAR(1) NOT NULL, IS_STATEFUL VARCHAR(1) NOT NULL, REQUESTS_RECOVERY VARCHAR(1) NOT NULL, JOB_DATA BINARY NULL, PRIMARY KEY (JOB_NAME,JOB_GROUP)) will not work. The type BINARY is not valid for Oracle. Do I have to patch the ejb3-timer-service.xml if I change the DB for it or is there a configuration for the different DB types?
