[Installation, Configuration & DEPLOYMENT] - Problem with facelets when switching to Jboss 5.0

Hi In our app we are using seam 2.1 + richfaces 3.2.2 + facelets (from Seam distrbution). When we decided to switch to the JBoss 5.0 server we have faced the folowing exceptions Caused by: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/sun/facelets/tag/jsf/ComponentHandler I guess we should change something in the configuration but I don't know what is wrong. [JBoss Tools (users)] - parameters/preferences of portlet

LS, I am developing jboss portal portlets but cannot get init-params/preferences to work. Using JBoss tools 3.0.0 and portal 2.7.0 I create a new "dynamic web project" and include a jboss portlet in it with a defined parameter. In the generated portal.xml I see the <init-param> fields. But after deploying on the 2.7.0 portal, going into admin mode, on the portlet definitions and portlet instances there are no preferences. Do I have to configure other parts to have them show up in the portal ? [Installation, Configuration & DEPLOYMENT] - running multiple instances of the same application on JBoss

Is it possible to do a single installation of JBoss and then deploy an EAR file (the application) more than once so that you end up with multiple instances of that application with each separate instance of the application using a different datasource file. My company is being asked by hosting companies whether we can run our application on a single JBoss instance but supporting multiple customers whose databases are different. To me that means deploy the same EAR file, have each reference a different datasource xml file all deployed on a single JBoss instance. The hosting companies hate the idea of creating separate JBoss installation per instance of our application. We don't want to have to repackage our EAR file for each customer. Cheers, Peter. [Persistence, JBoss/CMP, Hibernate, Database] - Calling schemaUpdate from CMT context?

My JEE-applikation runs under Jboss 5GA and the built-in hibernate3 with Hibernate Annotations. JBoss runs with container-managed transactions, which is fine - except that it prevents me from having Hibernate execute or update its schema. I have not been able to find any way for Hibernate to run SchemaUpdate.execute or SchemaExport.create with getting an exception that I cannot commit in CMT. Does anyone know, how I can run SchemaUpdate.execute under JBoss 5 ? Thanks in advance, /Thomas. [JBoss Portal] - Re: Use Themes outside of actual portal.

Sure; Portal themes run as (or inside) a typical Java EE WAR. There's no reason your custom Spring-based web apps can't directly reference your Portal's CSS files. You shouldn't have to copy the CSS selectors, you should be able to reference your Portal's theme CSS files directly: <link type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" media="all" href="/portal/yourportaltheme/styles/style.css" /> The above should work if your custom spring apps were deployed to the Portal server; otherwise you'd want to reference the appropriate server, etc. You can't, however, easily take advantage of the other features provided by Portal themes - layouts, regions, etc. Along those lines, if you do deploy the Spring apps on the Portal server, you should easily be able to enable single-sign on between them: http://www.andypemberton.com/jboss/securing-ajax-servlets-in-jboss-portal/ Good luck.
