Hi vickyk, I should of mentioned that this problem is occurring on 5.0-GA. I added jboss-app.xml to the ear META-INF, but I still have the same issue, the EJB-JAR is being deployed first: | <jboss-app> | <module-order>strict</module-order> | <loader-repository>com.x:archive=my.ear</loader-repository> | </jboss-app> The MDB in the ejb-jar is annotated as such: | @ResourceAdaptor("x.rar") I've played around with making that: @ResourceAdaptor("my.ear#x.rar") but not sure if that would be needed, but didn't work either. Anything in the Deployer xml files for 5.0 I can take a look at? I have found a way to make it work, but i still don't understand what happens. Our ear has a jboss-app.xml, which contained the following: <loader-repository> | seam.jboss.org:loader=navineo.ear | <loader-repository-config> | java2ParentDelegation=false | </loader-repository-config> | </loader-repository> (we have a small Seam application in the ear) If i comment this it works but the UCL's url property is still null, so i was wrong that it was the cause. I have read the doc and wiki about classloader isolation but i still don't get why it changes anything in my case since i only have 1 ear and i cold-deploy everything. [JBoss Tools (users)] - Full server capabilities only on localhost?

I am a bit puzzled. I installed jBoss Tools to improve my ability to manage and deploy to the jBoss servers (local and remote DEV server). I am able to setup and use the full capabilities for the localhost server, but any time I try to refer to the remote server instead of localhost all of the jBoss options disappear except for deployOnly. Is this a limitation? Or did I miss a configuration step? Also, I noticed that all paths (including the temporary and deploy paths for remote servers) are relative to my PC. This means that all of the paths have to be mountable and accessible from my PC. It works, but feels wrong... in most networks the temporary path might be visible over the LAN, but the jBoss deploy folder should typically be only visible from the server itself. Again, is this a limitation of the current implementation? Or did I misinterpret something? You are printing out the detailed GC information. Have you graphed those to see what the heap usage looks like? The installation steps are really easy (see http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&p=4205258, and ignore step 4 - that's a *nix only step) But you must have a stray log4j JAR file somewhere. To track it down, set JAVA_OPTS to "-verbose:class" and then run the app server. The JVM will then print out the location of every class file loaded. I assumed that you had placed that backup on the new hardware, and thus referred to it as the new JBoss AS installation.
