[Beginners Corner] - Forwarding to myapp.war from JBoss wellcome page

Hi all! I newbie in JBoss and use 4.2.3 GA version. How I can forward all request that comes to JBoss Wellcome page to myapp.war? I try to use index.jsp in JBOSS_HOME/server/default/deploy/jboss-web.deployer/ROOT.war in order to switch to myapp context by using following code: | <%@ page language="java" contentType="text/html; charset=UTF-8" | pageEncoding="ISO-8859-1"%> | | <% ServletContext ctx = application.getContext("/myapp"); | if(ctx != null){ | RequestDispatcher rdpt = ctx.getRequestDispatcher("/index.html"); | if(rdpt != null){ | rdpt.forward(request, response); | } | } | %> | | Instead forwarding to myapp/index.html it show me page with error 404: The requested resource (/myapp/index.html) is not available. 4 minutes is a lot. How much time does it take to boot the 'default' config out of the box without your application deployed? Maybe you should use the 'web' config (run -c web) which is closer to a bare tomcat config. Hi, one detail: your "jboss-web.xml" declares the wrong ID: <!DOCTYPE jboss-web PUBLIC "-//JBoss//DTD Web Application 2.4//EN" "http://www.jboss.org/j2ee/dtd/jboss-web_5_0.dtd"> should be: <!DOCTYPE jboss-web PUBLIC "-//JBoss//DTD Web Application 5.0//EN" "http://www.jboss.org/j2ee/dtd/jboss-web_5_0.dtd" As I fear that this does not change anything: did you try to activate logging of the security layer (see security FAQ post in this forum, question 4)? Maybe this provides you with a more detailed error, e.g. about invalid config. there is a nicer/cleaner solution, but it is a more complex one. Use jms in between with retries. That is what jms was meant for. Your services do not have to retry then. Hi I m working on JBoss 4.2.2. And i have made a custom log4j.xml file. I want to deploy it with my application.The problemis my application have only have one jar file containg all class files and ejb file and there is no classes folder.So where should i put my costom log4j fille is deployed with my application. [Installation, Configuration & DEPLOYMENT] - How to reduce Jboss Startup Time

Hi All, Sorry if i am posting this question again but i m unable to find its answer. i have just installed Latest Jboss 5.0. and have deployed my application successfully. but my problem is that Jboss is takeing 2 much time to start. in parallel i am using tomcat to deploy my application and it takes only 15-20 seconds to deploy my application. but Jboss takes almost 4 minutes to deploy it.
