Remotely start - only if you have some kind of an agent on the remote system, or you remote shell into the system. Another possibility - is you are running on Windows and has JBoss AS set to start as a server you can use MMC to connect to the remote system and start the service. I think that Jopr comes with such agent. Remotely stop - use JMX to call the shutdown() operation on the jboss.system:type=Server MBean. Several tools (twiddle, jmx console, embedded jopr, jopr) can do this for you. Yes, JBoss AS runs in a single JVM. You can run multiple instances if you like. [JBoss Portal] - LDAP Config File reading System Properties

I am trying to tokenize the values in the ldap_identity-config.xml file, however all of the values stay in their ${...} string format. I have put tokens in the login-config.xml file and they are translated properly into their corresponding System property. As an example: | ldap_identity-config.xml contains | <value>${jboss.portal.LDAP.host}</value> | | and the system property: | jboss.portal.LDAP.host=localhost.ldap.com | For some reason, the config file does not pick up the System property and keeps the token value of ${jboss.portal.LDAP.host}. Any ideas why the tokens in this file are not being converted properly? I think you're right, as the annotation currently only applies to bean. [Management, JMX/JBoss] - Multiple JMX/RMI queires are slow to load

I'm running JBoss 4.2.2GA under w2k3. There are 4 physical servers (in dev) running multiple jboss instances. I have 5 clusters or apps (4 nodes per cluster) running across the servers. Each one is bound to its own ip address and each ip address is loaded into the server. When preforming a jmx/rmi query it can take a couple of minutes to return the results (a jsp page displaying tables). This only happens when querying any of the instances that are hosted on the same physical server. For example I have 5 apps, each are clustered running in dev and prod. One of those apps is used to check vital stats on the other jboss instances (uptime, memory, connections, etc). So if i connect to the app in dev and it runs the queries on the other jboss instances in dev it can take a couple of minutes to load, but if I run the queries from dev to prod they return much quicker. Any ideas as to why, the logs show no errors or anything. Thanks in advanced!
