This is not the only thing that is wrong with the hashcode()/equals() in Eclipse - you should report it in Eclipse bugzilla (post the link to it here) Other things that are problematic in their implementation: They put collections in by default (it vary *rarely* is the right thing to do) No way to control ordering (have a big impact on performance) .... Oh dear..dear... Ok, first thing is that I am using Eclipse Ganymede. I must be doing someting terribly wrong here. So far as I have understood, I have "physically" copied all those hibernate jar files from their respective setup folders to the jboss server default lib. Not so long ago I was unable to deploy my EJB3 JPA entity program because I was not using the Hibernate compatibility matrix to ensure correct versions. I copied all the appropriate hibernate jars (hibernate-distribution.3.3.jar, hibernate-common-annotations.3.4.jar, hibernate-annotations.3.4.jar, hibernate-entitymanager.jar and hibernate-validator.3.4.jar to the jboss server default lib and everything works. Also I must add that the ear files are also saved in the jboss server default deploy and sar and esb files are also saved here. I usually get confused by the Eclipse Package Explorer structure within the IDE and Windows Explorer as they have similar file structure (the same when it comes to the java projects). All I know is that when you get the hibernate distributions.zip (or gz.tar) or the hibernate entity manager and annotation zip or tar files, they will expand by default to their own folder with the same name as the product (e.g. C:\hibernate-entitymanager.3.4.0). Within these you can find the core jar file you need and any accompanying jars in the lib sub-folder. I just copy them all physically in Windows Explorer to jboss.4.2.2.GA\server\default\lib. Is this the right way to do it ? Or do I copy it into the clipse Package Explorer lib folder ? If so, where physically in the Windows file system will these files be kept ? [JBoss Messaging] - ejb 2 over https

Hello, I'm trying to follow the guide at: http://www.jboss.org/community/docs/DOC-9632 but when I deploy the unified invoker ( = just unzipped the attached unified invoker zip into the deploy directory, and changed some ports), I get errors. 11:32:47,778 ERROR [[/unified-invoker]] Servlet /unified-invoker threw load() exception javax.servlet.ServletException: Can not find servlet server invoker with same locator as specified (sslservlet://192.168.1.11 6:8446/unified-invoker/SSLEjb3ServerInvokerServlet) at org.jboss.remoting.transport.servlet.web.ServerInvokerServlet.getInvokerFromInvokerUrl(ServerInvokerServlet.java:2 09) ... I've changed the ports to match my configuration (8446 is SSL enabled port -- instead of 8443), but it still complains. Somebody can point me to a solution. afaik, the location changed close to about 2 or 3 years ago when we moved from a custom server API to the WTP API when going from JBossIDE 1.5/1.6 to JBoss Tools 2 (my memory might be bad here though) About the 100%, is it constant or just a spike ? [JBoss Tools (users)] - equals() hashcode() generation feature request

Using the default Eclipse "Generate hashcode() and equals()" from the Source menu gives you these two methods but generated using fields rather than getters. As Hibernate uses Proxy objects and only loads the actual object when a getter is encountered, these generated methods can prove problematic (eg. when comparing two identical entities for equality and if one is a proxy generated by CGLIB then they will not be equal as the proxied entity is not loaded via field access). See here http://blog.xebia.com/2008/03/08/advanced-hibernate-proxy-pitfalls/ for an explanation. The Eclipse templates for this generation aren't accessible, so it would be handy if there was an option to create these methods with getters via the Hibernate Eclipse plugins that are part of the Jboss Tools.
