[Clustering/JBoss] - JMS failover problem

Jboss 4.2.3.GA I have a cluster with two nodes and I can bring up both nodes just fine. I even see messages that state they were clustered together. When the second node comes up all of the jms queues are not deployed (which is what is supposed to happen). But when I bring the master down I get a bunch of jms failures. My queue will not reconnect and I get error messages like: [ERROR] [org.jboss.resource.adapter.jms.inflow.JmsActivation] Unable to reconnect org.jboss.resource.adapter.jms.inflow.JmsActivation Followed by javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: queue/myTestQueue. Anyone run into anything like this? Hi. For all those who may have the same problem, the solution is to change the bindings.xml file at the ${your server configuration}/conf/bootstrap directory. There, you must change two parts. The first one is easy: | <property name="bindingName">HttpsConnector</property> | <property name="port">443</property> | The other not so obvious change is at the following line: | <xsl:variable name="portHttps" select="$port + 363"/> | Note that the default HTTP port is 8080 and the default HTTPS port is 8443, so 8080+363 = 8443. Here you must compute the number that must be added/substracted to 8080 in order to get the desired 443 port: 8080 - 7637 = 443. So the resulting line is: | <xsl:variable name="portHttps" select="$port - 7637"/> | Hope this may help someone. When i say "how so" i mean for instance with respect to JTA transactions (does the choice of the "held JMS object granularity" have unexpected impacts on transaction behaviour, can i hold a Session but not a MessageProducer etc..). [Clustering/JBoss] - What is the correct object to hold in an EJB for transaction

It is often said here (for good reason) that creating a JMS connection per request is an anti-pattern, but there is something i'm not quite clear about. Should i maintain in my EJBs a reference to a session, a message producer, something else? With a persistence unit in a Stateless, the transaction is per request and the persistence context is per request too (after that the entities are detached from the session). So if i translate this from JPA to JMS and JBM, shouldn't the session be in the same scope as the transaction? But if in a Stateless i hold a reference to a JMS session, for instance created from the ConnectionFactory in a PostConstruct method, that session will last longer than the request because the EJB is pooled (and if wasn't there would be no point in holding the Session rather than the SessionFactory) But then the JMS interfaces are ConnectionFactory not SessionFactory so maybe they are more like JDBC connections and if so how? Hi, The class loading is failing at your tomcat instance. Taking a look at WebClassLoader: http://www.jdocs.com/tomcat/6.0.14/org/apache/catalina/loader/WebappClass... We can see that the illegal state is being thrown because the method stop of WebClassLoader was called at some point in the past, causing the started field to become false. Thus, when loadClass method checks for started filed value and sees it is false, it throws the exception: 1241 // Log access to stopped classloader | 1242 if (!started) { | 1243 try { | 1244 throw new IllegalStateException(); | 1245 } catch (IllegalStateException e) { | 1246 log.info(sm.getString("webappClassLoader.stopped", name), e); | 1247 } | 1248 } This hardly has anything to do with JBoss AOP. You need to find out what is triggering the call to WebappClassLoader.stop(), which happens before JBoss AOP tries to load the class.
