[JBoss Tools (users)] - Could not obtain connection error in Server Log view

After successfully starting a JBoss 4.2.3.GA server in Eclipse, and selecting Show In > Server Log, I see two warning messages in the server log: "Could not obtain connection to any of these urls: localhost:1099" "jmx not bound" Are these warnings avoidable? Even the JBoss documentation for the JBoss AS perspective shows them in the screenshot for the Server Log. I haven't run into any functional issues, it's just bugging me and I'd like to NOT see warning messages if possible. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. [JBoss Portal] - CMS Portlet does not persist new content after restart of AS

I have a critical issue that all the uploaded content (as admin) in the CMS gets lost after restarting JBoss. JBoss Portal Version: 2.7.2 I downloaded it? Yes, if JBoss AS is the only thing running, and you allocate only a 4GB heap, then around 20GB of RAM will be unused. Actually, more like 18 or 19GB because the OS and various services will use some memory, the Java threads will use memory, the JVM will use memory, etc. There were some recent posts on how he JVM consumes memory. I still stand by my statements on heap sizing - a too large heap is as bad as a too small heap. There is an ideal heap size for your apps, but without monitoring the heap usage you will never know what it is. Please, the fact that any vendor does it doesn't mean anything. Providing this gives a false sense of portal portability, which in the end allows for vendor lock-in. Events are a powerful but dangerous feature "with great power comes great responsibility". This is why I asked for the usecase as often developers tend to use this mechanism to replace a mechanism like JMS that guarantees delivery (and portlet events don't) or other things for which portlet events aren't designed for. [JBoss Portal] - Data Structure for storing common data

Hi We know that the JSR 286 spec allows to share data with things like public render parameters or eventing. But my doubt is that when all these are sharable across war files which are independent applications, then what is it that is binding this information togeter to be shared across all war files? is it done by the portlet container or left upto the vendors to implement by maybe storing it in the in-built database for eg HSQLDB in case of jboss? or is it in the servletcontext? But servet context willl be one per war file. Then how will all war files share the data? Can anyone please help me in understanding the architecture? Well, IBM WPS 6.1 provides that..infact they have it right from the 5.0 version of WPS. It would have been added for a reason. Is it not required in JBoss i mean may be for the sake of being in the competitive space? Hi I am facing a similar problem using the graphical tool as explained in the reference manual for JBoss 4.3. The problem I am facing is that the <implicit-mode> tag is not being accepted by the dtd: http://www.jboss.org/portal/dtd/portal-object_2_6.dtd. It is also not accepting the tag. Please advise on how to use the coordination related tags in the dtd. Also I want to know that which object.xml should have these coordination tags: source or target portlet?? [JNDI/Naming/Network] - Re: JNDI-lookup returns

Casting to my the underlying remote-interface results in a class-cast exception (that was the primary motivation for this thread....). Adding all client libs from 5.10GA did solve the problem but adding always all libs in my J2SE-client-application is not my aim because i'll distribute it using JNLP (it's about 40MB). But nevertheless it's really curious that my primary JAR-combination works fine but returns wrong interfaces.
