Well, yes and no. The Jira is the 'todo' list for the devs (heck for everybody in the community ;-)), the forum is not. And although it is not a big change. people are busy doing different things (JBossWorld e.g. or having a normal job) so it can be easily forgotten. So it's not bureaucracy imo.
Regarding the fixing 'on the fly', that is also not as easy as you think. Might be that other changes are already in the docs, so those will be published then as well, and manually fixing the online doc is not easy as well because of release procedures (access do the files etc). What could be done is making a sticky topic in the forum for the timebeing.

Yes, this is possible, but jBPM does not have a webservice node in it's palet. You can easily generate the stubs with every ws framework you want to use and use that as a custom action.
This might (will) change in the future though since jBPM is also working on a BPMN2 compliant engine and that requires calling ws by configuring the endpoint, incoming and outgoing message like in bpel. In fact, you could make a custom node in jBPM4 that does effectively this.

Hello to all
I am using the link on this site http://www.jboss.org/tools/download to set Gaymede Eclipse3.4.2 with Jboss tools 3.0
When I am using the update URL given on this page i.e. http://download.jboss.org/jbosstools/updates/stable/ I am getting this error that "no update is available on this site" in the eclipse Software Updates screen. Has any one used this and any idea where the problem is?
Also when you say you want to use Drool5 then do we need to get the jars for that separate or these installations come with the required dependencies?
There are other posts of mine that is related to Galileo set up. But in that I faces too many problem even running a Default Drools project game me -"NO DONUT FOR YOU". So I am trying this out with Ganymede. Any help on this is greatly appreciated folks.

1: Exception handling like in jBPM 3 is still on the todo list (look in Jira). For technical retries to external systems etc, I do not think jBPM should reinvent (reimplement) the wheel (like they are doing in drools with reinventing workflow) but leverage what is already there, JBoss ESB or JMS or your custom code/custom node. For business level retries, what you describe is an option. Might require a custom node though.
2: Yes (at least tin 4.1, afaik, in 4.0 there was a small issue, that error jobs could block the rest)
