[Beginner's Corner] - How to manage all the requests?

Hi all!
I'm starting to develop a new webapplication (a new Maven project with the Artifact Id: maven-archetype-webbapp), and I want to know what is the best way to manage all the requests. I have an example of servlet, but this servlet creates a html file inside the java code. I know that if I use another tecnologies (by example spring) I can make reference to an jsp file from the servlet, and pass to this file the parameters with data. How can I do this without spring and using JBoss as 7?
On the other hand, I have seen other examples where there aren't any servlet. To pas from a web page to another the link calls direcly the file ("/users.xhtml" for example). I think that the best way is to use servlets by I don't have experience, so which is the usual way of doing it?
Thank you very much
Fran

Hi,
I am trying to configure ha-local-tx-datasource with JBoss 6.1.0 on my dev environment. But, I am facing below issues:
1. I could not find any ha*.rar files in the JBoss installation
2. I followed all the steps given at https://community.jboss.org/thread/73235?decorator=print&displayFullThrea... https://community.jboss.org/thread/73235?decorator=print&displayFullThrea... and http://docs.jboss.org/jbossas/6/JCA_Guide/en-US/html_single/ http://docs.jboss.org/jbossas/6/JCA_Guide/en-US/html_single/ But no luck.
I am getting below mentioned exception on JBoss console, which says my datasource (sdp-model-datasource) is not available. I used JMX console and looked in JNDI tree for datasource, but could not find it.
Could you pls help here out?

Hello Jay,
Thanks for the quick reply, Please go ahed to move this post and let me know how can I will keep track of this issue.
I need to add one more point to the above, On hit and trail basics trying to resolve the issue, I put spring-beans-3.0.5.RELEASE.jar to ${JBOSS-SERVER}/lib/
folder, Now the
Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.springframework.beans.BeansException , issue is not coming, where as its not able to detect the proxy class created by wsimport, I mean not able to inject this service.
Thanks,
Jayaram.

[JBoss Messaging] - Configuration of HornetQ-Paging in JBoss6.1.0.Final

In order to send and receive large messages, we would like to use the paging feature of HornetQ.
However, after changing the address-full-policy to PAGE in hornetq-configurations.xml (see below)
<address-settings>
<!--default for catch all-->
<address-setting match="#">
<dead-letter-address>jms.queue.DLQ</dead-letter-address>
<expiry-address>jms.queue.ExpiryQueue</expiry-address>
<redelivery-delay>0</redelivery-delay>
<max-size-bytes>10485760</max-size-bytes>
<message-counter-history-day-limit>10</message-counter-history-day-limit>
<address-full-policy>PAGE</address-full-policy>
</address-setting>
</address-settings>
JBoss brings a lot of errors like that given below during statup and hangs.

With address-full-policy values DROP and BLOCK there are no problems during startup.
Did we miss something to configure?

Im am migrating an application to JBoss 5.1.0.GA from another app server.
The web service clients in my app seem to work but I get a lot of warnings in the log:
2012-04-02 14:18:53,660 WARN [org.jboss.util.xml.JBossEntityResolver] (http-127.0.0.1-8080-1) Trying to resolve systemId as a non-file URL: vfszip:/C:/dev/...some.ear/lib/..some-ws-client.jar/wsdl/my.xsd
The WSDL and any XSD imported in the WSDL are packaged inside the JAR file. The path mentioned in the log statement appears to be correct if used as a file URI.
The service client is created with a reference to the WSDL inside the JAR like this:
Service service = Service.create("/wsdl/my.wsdl", MY_QNAME);
However this is the line of code that causes the warning in the log.
What does this really mean? Performance is important so I hope the web service framework does not end up resolving the XSD from the net.
I tried to package a META-INF/jax-ws-catalog.xml with the client JAR file to map the systemID to a file URI but it does not seem to be picked up by the web service framework.
Any1 know how to fix this?

[Beginner's Corner] - Tweaking memory in JBOSS

*Dear JBoss users,
*
*
I have a question. I'm using a planon server and the memory is increasing almost the max of the server, 2 gig.
A way is to put more memory in the server is one thing, but when i read the documentation i see the following article about "preventing memory for list"
*
++When the user tries to retrieve a huge list of records, the memory usagesometimes reaches so high that the application stops responding. You can prevent this by setting the JVM parameter in++
+D:\Program Files\Planon\PlanonEE201012\Server\jboss-4.2.3.GA\tanuki\conf\jboss-wrapper-default.conf+
+ +
+In the Java Additional Parameters section, add the JVM parameter as+
+"-DMaximumMemoryUsageLimitForLists= <number>"+
+
stands for a numeric value, for example, 90%. When the
memory usage reaches 90%, the system takes prevention measures.
+
++++If the memory utilization is equal to or greater than the set value, it
checks if the
is set. If theGC parameter is not set, an error message is displayed.
++
*When i see this file i don't see these settings at al in the config file. I only see:*
+# Java Classpath (include wrapper.jar) Add class path elements as+
+# needed starting from 1+
+wrapper.java.classpath.1=../lib/wrapper.jar+
*Can i just place the GC param line and the -D MaximumMem line in the file if i want to tune the memory?
Thanks for your answer.
Kind regards,
André*
