Did you create the "jbossportal" database in MySQL, and did you set the password for "root" to be "sa"? If that does not solve the problem, then: You posted the error from the browser. There should also be a stack trace in the console log. Please post the first exception stack trace from the console log. You might have to increase the console buffer size to see the first stack trace (otherwise it might scroll off of the buffer).
