When I think of it, I might be more willing to accept Gavin's suggestion. From the beginning I was not so sure if this should be made available. I wanted to discuss it with the folks but somehow the thread headed somewhere else. I think this issue will be discussed and eventually syntax will change in some way. It's not ready for a solution right now, or I simply don't see it. JBoss EL will make modifications, I just hope they will make it to a JSR. Thank you, dmitriy for sharing the code.
