yes autocomplete for EL is available - just make sure JSF is enabled for the project.

Either create it with the project wizards or right click and choose JBoss Tools menu and
enable JSF.

That should give you code completion.

I'm not sure what color coding you refer to - but we just use the standard eclipse xml
editor.
