I had downloaded the zipped version jboss-eap-4.3.0.GA-1.ep1.8.zip and did not run the installer. This were the contents of jmx-console-users.properties: # A sample users.properties file for use with the UsersRolesLoginModule #admin=admin I removed the # comment and specified the user(admin) and password (admin) in the eclipse plugin to make it work.
