The application is not redeployed when you update one of the JSPs. Instead, you simply get the updated JSP. If your browser tends to cache pages, you might have to hit the refresh button on the browser to get the updated page. Though I think that this happens to me only when updating static content (css, html, etc), not when updating JSP).
