are you using jsf 1.1 or 1.2? i had similar problems deploying my jsf 1.1 based app to jboss 5.0, but when i deployed the 1.2-based sample war from jboss to deploy onto jboss 5.0, it worked w/ no problems. next thing i'm going to try is updating my build to use jsf-1.2 instead of jsf-1.1 RI. if it works, i'll let u know. or if you came up w/ a solution by the time u read this, please post what you find..
