There are two aspects to clustering worth noting here:
- server scalability of blocking HTTP connection across the cluster
- application scalability of asynchronous updates across the cluster
For both of these the Enterprise edition of ICEfaces provides particular features:
application-server specific integration and configuration for handling large numbers of
blocking connections and a JMS-based RenderManager for broadcasting asynchronous updates.
In general, if you don't need to scale the asynchronous aspect of your ICEfaces
application, the community edition is all that you need.
