The only option that seems doable is 
<process-state name="Employee survey">
  |     <sub-process name="survey">  
  |         <variable name="surveySwimlane" .../>
  |     </sub-process>
  |     :
  | </process-state>
So, I've issued a feature request to allow for setting Actor or Swimlane on process
level: JBPM-955.
