My guess is that Log4J-Boot.jar that you've grabbed has been modified to be somewhat JBoss-specific and you may have broken whatever original plans you had for Log4J. Try just upgrading your Log4J to the latest 1.2 release. (at this time 1.2.15) Did the trick for me... Regards!
