By "user" do you mean "an end user who is typing things into a browser" or do you mean "a developer who is going to incorporate your EJBs into their application" or do your mean "a system administrator who is configuring you application for use on their system and wants to override your calculations"? The answer to your question is very different depending on which type of user you are referring to.
