It was not a problem that was fixed, just that there was unnecessary matching in some read-only cases where no validation was necessary. This was fixed in 1.4.1.CR1, but if your threads are writing to the node, then this is correct behaviour. In general, as a concept, if you have a lot of threads concurrently writing to the same data, optimistic locking will throw such exceptions.
