Upon further testing it appears that specfying the EntityBean results in the class being
properly woven.

I used 

<typedef name="logclasses"
expr="class(test.entity.GroupEntity)"/>

and the pointcut was properly bound. When classes are specified with wildcards(*) are they
woven differently?
