The change relates to the way the InitialContext is being constructed. I can't reproduce this error on 4.2.2 system, with my sample persistence application. However, i have seen a similar post in one of the forums here which too pointed to the same error while deploying an application on 4.2.2 (and the application deployed fine on 4.2.1). Looks like something specific to the way the application is packaged or maybe the contents in your application.
