Sorry, you can't specify a different cache config for different entities, unless they are associated wth different Hibernate SessionFactories. The configuration applies globally to the SessionFactory. FYI for Hibernate 3.5 (currently at Beta 2) Galder Zamarreño's Second Level Cache integration with Infinispan includes the ability to use a different config for different entities.
