Hello,

  I'm trying to learn SEAM, and am having trouble deploying my SEAM web application
EAR on JBoss 4.2.3.GA.  This is not a SEAM question, though!  This question is about
learning to diagnose web application deployment problems in general.

  Because the deployment error with my SEAM app was so vague, I decided to experiment by
breaking an existing JSF web application and deploying it to see if I could figure out how
to fix it (pretending I didn't know what I did to break it).

  What I've done is remove all the commons-*.jar files from the WAR file inside the
EAR of a working webapp.  This deployment worked perfectly before I removed these files. 
Now, however, I get the error below.  This error certainly does not lead me to recognize
the source of the issue; all it really does is tell me the issue is with the WAR
deployment.

  Now, I'm thinking that behind the scenes, there must be a ClassNotFoundException or
ClassDefNotFoundError, or *something* that would indicate an attempt to access one of the
missing classes.  Is this a correct assumption, and if so, how do I ensure such an error
is logged?  Knowing this would allow me to determine and package the missing
dependencies.

  As an additional note, I've also run the same type of test by deploying just a
stripped down WAR file.  The results were the same (minus the stuff at the end about the
EJBs and JPA persistence unit, of course).
