looks like this will do the trick:

yum install libstdc++.so.5

Running Transaction
  Installing     : compat-libstdc++-33  1/1

Installed:
  compat-libstdc++-33.i386 0:3.2.3-64

looks like it pulls in the 64bit version, not sure why but looks like it works and fixes
both problems
