Just tried with the commandLink and commandButton and using a dummy action string in the action attribute, that didn't work. Then read that you used a blank action method, and tried that which works :) (when join on the current conversation). I think that it is a bit of a shame that I can't use normal Strings for the action attribute which makes use of the defined pageflow I've setup :( .
