I removed The prior installation of JBoss4.0.4 that I installed with the jboss installer. I unzipped the latest version jboss. I installed jbossws-1.0.2 started jboss in default mode. deployed my Web service and it worked. I am not sure why the jboss installed via the installer wouldn't work but that is what I experienced. I got the same error when I deployed and called the example(rpcstyle) WS on this install(jboss installed using the installer).
