Sorry it's taken me a few days to get back to this, but I exclude the xerces jar from my deployment and that indeed solves the xerces issue. I still however have the mapped-name issue. My guess is it's a conflict between the cxf jars jboss ships with and the cxf jars in my deployment. If I exclude these jars from my deployment, it works, but that's less than ideal and I'd really like to see the classloader isolation work.
